It's nine months today; thank you to the Attorney Generals
Today marks nine months since my son Sam died from a little-known synthetic drug called 25i-NBOMe or N-Bomb. The best part of this grieving mother's day was learning that Indiana's Attorney General along with 42 other Attorney Generals sent letters to nine oil companies urging them to address the sale of synthetic drugs in gas stations that sell their products.
The letter was sent this week to British Petroleum, Chevron Corporation, Citgo Petroleum Corporation, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Phillips 66, Shell Oil Company, Sunoco, and Valero Energy Corporation.
The letter asks the oil companies to:
· Prohibit franchisees from selling any synthetic drugs;
· Ensure store franchisees and their employees understand the prohibition by communicating directly with each of them;
· Establish a point of contact in corporate offices for franchisees with questions about synthetic drugs;
· Revoke franchisee/franchisor relationship with any gas station or convenience store that sells synthetic drugs; and
· Report to local law enforcement authorities if any franchisee is selling synthetic drugs.
My tears of grief today include tears of thankfulness. Much love to Sam and much thanks to those fighting the good fight for a safer synthetic drug-free world for our young people...
