((Streaks)) in the sky

I have mentioned before the rays of hope, faith and love that a parent looks for in the midst of despair and grief over the loss of a child.  Last week I saw it with my lifelong friend, Robin, in the form of a heart-shaped helium balloon flying high above us in the sky just after we had spent several hours at a North side high school with students who openly listened to Sam’s message to “Know Now” about the synthetic drug dangers threatening teens today.  On Sunday, Robin and I spent the afternoon in Bloomington for an important panel discussion on “Your Kid and Killer Drugs” sponsored by the Local Council of Women.  As we left and traveled home, half way through our trek we stopped for dinner and as we walked out of the restaurant after and glanced upward to the open clear blue sky we saw all around us jet flight streaks with one crossing the other above us.  For that moment, streaks of hope, faith and love.  Much love to Sam…
